When you think of legendary pop engineers who are simply the absolute best at what they do, the list is a very short one. A single handful at best.
The inhabitants who populate that list not only take great pride in their work; they define what magnificent recordings should sound like. You can hear their craft embedded in digital code, or if you’re lucky, 180 gram vinyl, on such seminal works as Van Morrison’s
Moondance, Steely Dan’s
Aja, Gaucho and
The Royal Scam, Chaka Khan’s
I Feel For You, Rickie Lee Jones’
Pirates, Bruce Hornsby’s
The Way It Is and The Eagles’
Hell Freezes Over.
From the early days at A&R Studios, Elliot has gone on to produce, engineer and mix an eclectic selection of talented artists such as Foo Fighters, Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Faith Hill, Steely Dan, Van Morrison, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Sting, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith, Phish and many others. On the film side, Elliot’s worked on such films as The Godfather, The Godfather II, Tarzan and Meet The Robinsons.

Two Against Nature as well as two Engineer of the Year Grammys for two of the most recognized Pop albums in rock history:
Aja and
Gaucho by Steely Dan.
Toto’s brand new Greatest Hits package titled
40 Trips Around The Sun contains three previously unreleased recordings:
“Spanish Sea” “Alone” and
“Struck By Lightning” alongside newly remastered classic tracks worked on by Elliot Scheiner, Gavin Lurssen and his team.
Just last year Elliot mixed Guns N’ Roses
Appetite for Destruction in 5.1 surround sound for their fantastical box set as well as Phish’s
The Baker’s Dozen: Live at Madison Square Garden.
He has 25 Grammy nominations and 8 Grammy wins. Additionally, Elliot has an Emmy, 3 TEC Awards as well as membership in the TEC Hall of Fame alongside George Lucas. He also won an Emmy as Outstanding Sound Mixing For Nonfiction Programming as Music Mixer for
