Measurement microphones are optimized for a flat frequency response over a frequency range of 10Hz to 20kHz but that is only a single aspect for making the right choice.

There are other microphone specifications of the same or even higher importance such as microphone distortion, dynamic range, maximum SPL, amongst others we have to look into.

Let’s assume, we’ve chosen the right (probably) state of the art measurement mic. Does the measurement chain fit? Can we get the measurement results we are supposed to get or are we measuring crap?
